Description

BUILDING DESCRIPTION

A six-plex (five one bedroom units and one- four bedroom unit with living space in the arctic) The subject building is a single story masonry structure built using the conventional concrete block system typical to Freeport. The structure has the configuration of an "L" turned upside down. The longer section of the L shape houses the five one bedroom units. In addition is the corridor or entrance porch with a total area of Four Hundred and Sixty-eight (468 sq.ft.) The four bedroom unit This area divides into two bedrooms and a bathroom in the arctic area. On the ground floor the area divides into a foyer, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a powder room, a kitchen, a dining room a living room, an office a laundry room, a family room and lots of closet and storage space. In addition is the garage and the covered back porch with an area of five hundred and ten (510 sq.ft.) Square feet. The floor of the arctic area is constructed of plywood. Entrance to this section is accessed by a wooden staircase. Construction materials are as follows:

FOUNDATION: 

Reinforced concrete. WALLS: Eight inch (8") cement blocks tied with reinforced concrete columns and belt beams and plastered with cement mortar. (Textured plaster on the exterior; smooth plaster on the interior. ROOF: The hip roof is built using utility grade plywood sheathing on pre-engineered wood trusses tied to the structural frame with galvanized hurricane straps embedded into the concrete belt.

ROOF COVERING: 

Asphalt. WINDOWS: Horizontal slide (hurricane resistant) windows with colonial styled esp. frames.
